Czech Republic National Day Celebration Dinner

EUROCHAM Malaysia celebrated the Czech Republic National Day together with the Czech Republic Embassy in Malaysia. The Czech Republic, having assumed the presidency of the Council of the European Union in June 2022, has been focusing sustainability efforts, specifically environmental and climate impacts, in both European and non-European entities to foster trade and economic development. The Presidency has also been actively ensuring progress in the digital environment and technological advancements including artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. These priorities are in line with EUROCHAM Malaysia's agenda, advocated through various sector committees i.e. cybersecurity and defence, sustainability, digital business, etc.

EUROCHAM Malaysia CEO, Mr. Sven Schneider, and team attended the celebration alongside our heads, deputy heads, and members of our sector committees. As well as the event was graced by the presence of the Czech Republic Ambassador of the Czech Republic Embassy, H.E. Milan Hupcej as well as our friends from the Czech Republic embassy, and representatives from the EU Commission who came down to celebrate this joyous National Day.

Straits Interactive | Online Webinar – Protect Your Data and Your Bottom Line

On behalf of our fellow member, Straits Interactive we would like to share the upcoming webinar how to strengthen an organisation’s data governance and data protection programme.

According to Bernama, there were more than 20,000 cyber crime cases recorded in Malaysia in 2021, with losses amounting to RM560 million (USD125.6 million). These figures were up from the 13,000 cyber crime cases in 2019, which had resulted in losses of RM539 million (USD 120.9 million).

By all accounts, that’s a huge number just for Malaysia alone and you can see that data is the hottest commodity today. Do you know what you need to do as a responsible organisation to safeguard the personal data in your care and to build a reputation as a trusted business partner?
