Implementation of the Micro-credential Fee on Trainings by Human Resources Development Corp

HRDC disseminated a Employers' Circular (2/2022) on June 15 (https://hrdcorp.gov.my/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/2-Employers-Circular-No-2-2022_.pdf), stipulating that it will charge employers a micro-credential fee of RM300 per trainee per training for almost all training conducted, effective 15 August 2022. This effectively means that the employer will be upskilling fewer people in the organisation for the same amount that they have been contributing to HRDC on an annual basis.

We are conducting this poll to provide a swift response to the Human Resources Development Corporation (HRDC) and the Malaysian government regarding the agreement of employers to the implementation of the micro-credential fee. Your feedback and cooperation is very much valued.

Malaysia Digital to boost growth of nation's digital economy, says PM

The government has developed Malaysia Digital (MD), an initiative to accelerate the growth of the nation’s digital economy, driven by three key principles — flexibility, agility and relevance.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the initiative, via MD Catalytic Programmes (PEMANGKIN), will function holistically in transforming Malaysia’s digital economy ecosystem through three strategic priorities.

“It will, firstly, help drive digital adoption among aspiring young entrepreneurs, companies and people. Secondly, support local tech companies to become ‘Malaysian Champions’ and successful international players. Thirdly, attract high-value digital investments,” he said when launching MD and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation silver jubilee celebration here on Monday (July 4).
