Areas Involved:

Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Perak, Pulau Pinang and Sabah.

*For Sabah, please refer to the National Recovery Plan - SOP Phase 2 Sabah.

**For areas enforced by EMCO, EMCO SOP in the area is effective until the expiry date of the EMCO.

Effective Period:

Starting 16 August 2021 (starting from 12.01 am)

The latest political scenario has given various perceptions to the entire system of the government administration. The civil service is a machinery in the national administrative system. It is governed to enable national policies and programs to run smoothly.

The loyalty of civil servants is to the King, the State, and the Government. Regardless of whether working at any level and position, civil servants must provide the best service to the people and the country.

YAB Tan Sri Dato’ Haji  Muhyiddin Haji Mohd Yassin has delivered a speech today – speech as follows:

I have addressed His Majesty The Yang di-Pertuan Agong at 12.30 pm this afternoon at the National Palace.

In the facing session, I handed over the letter of my resignation as Prime Minister and the entire Cabinet of Ministers under Article 43 (4) of the Federal Constitution as I have lost the support of the majority of Members of the House of Representatives. This means I and the rest of the Cabinet have resigned.

Although I initially suggested that legitimacy of me as Prime Minister is determined in Parliament, yet fifteen (15) Umno MPs have withdrawn support to me, and suggestions of the cross-party cooperation I put forward have been rejected by the opposition parties. Obviously, I have lost the support of the majority. So, there is no need for my legitimacy as Prime Minister to be determined in Parliament.
