[Press Release} Ministry of Transport regarding MCO from June 1 - June 14, 2021

Here are the highlights from the Ministry of Transport regarding MCO from June 1 - June 14, 2021:

 

TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS SUB-SECTORS ALLOWED TO OPERATE AT OPTIMUM LEVELS : All stakeholders, users, and employees of public transport and logistics must uphold compliance to COVID-19 prevention SOPS 

 

PRIVATE VEHICLES 

-Only two (2) persons including the driver are allowed at one time in private vehicles regardless of capacity.

-However, up to three (3) persons including the driver are allowed at one time in the event of a medical need (such as hospital visit with doctor’s letter or vaccination as validated with MySejahtera) or for security reasons. 

 

TAXIS AND E-HAILING VEHICLES 

-Only two (2) persons including the driver are allowed at one time in taxis and e-hailing vehicles regardless of capacity. Passengers must be seated in the rear seats.

-Up to three (3) persons including the driver are allowed at one time in the event of a medical need (such as hospital visit with doctor’s letter or vaccination as validated with MySejahtera) or for security reasons.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT 

-All operators of land and sea public transportation are allowed to operate at 50% of passenger capacities. Passenger airlines are exempt from this requirement due to already low passenger levels. 

 

-All operators are allowed to determine their respective optimum service frequencies to prevent crowding on terminals, platforms, and stations, and ensure full compliance to MKN and Ministry of Health (MOH) SOPs. 

 

LOGISTICS 

-Airports, ports, and logistics companies (see below for full list) are allowed to operate at optimum levels. However, operators must ensure full compliance to MKN and MOH SOPs.

-Logistics companies are those related to land, sea, and air transportation and handling of goods including e-commerce businesses.

SMILE (Sistem Maklumat Industri Logistik) SYSTEM
-The Ministry will issue new approval letters to allow companies registered under the SMILE to operate during the first phase of the total lockdown.

-All previous letters issued under SMILE are null and void. New approval letters are now available for download.
