Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence issued a media statement regarding the National Recovery Plan (NRP) & Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) - media statement as follows:

The National Recovery Plan (NRP) is the Government's commitment in providing a clear strategy to address the COVID-19 pandemic. The government also regularly implements strict SOP enforcement measures including compliance operations, control actions and snap checks of business premises and factories.

Yesterday alone, 180 factories and business premises were prosecuted for not complying with the SOPs and today, 65 premises were also prosecuted.

The government will not compromise if there is a violation of directives and SOPs in any situation because what is the priority now is the safety and well -being of the people. If any of the premises are still stubborn and violate the instructions of the authorities, harsh action including an immediate closure order will be imposed.
