Here are the highlights of the SOP for the Reopening of The International Tourism Sector For Langkawi Island Pilot Project:

Effective Time:

Starting on 15 November 2021. Such as General SOP Phase 4 and Related SOPs

Employee Capacity:

Including Operations and Management: 100%

Movement Allowed:

Subject to countries approved by MOH / JIM / MOFA (please refer to MOTAC website at https://motac.gov.my). A minimum of three (3) days period of time on Langkawi Island.

Presence (3 – 7 days)

-  Movement to and from Langkawi Island must use air transportation either via Kuala Lumpur /Penang (technical stop only) or continue to Langkawi Island.

- The movement of international tourists is only restricted in the district of Langkawi Island only.

Presence (>7 days)

- Movement to Langkawi Island must use air transport, either via Kuala Lumpur / Penang (technical stop only) or directly to Langkawi Island.

- Tourists can exit through the domestic exit (air or sea) after being confirmed negative by the RT-PCR COVID-19 / Rapid Molecular Test screening test on the 8th day or 72 hours before leaving Langkawi Island.

- Movement to all destinations in Malaysia are allowed except areas which was declared the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).
