EUROCHAM Malaysia attended Carlsberg Malaysia’s launch event of their Journey towards ZERO & Beyond last week at Probably the Best Lounge @ Carlsberg Malaysia’s Shah Alam’s brewery. Their new Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) ambitions and priorities were featured by means of a showcase and engagement activities, complete with a demonstration of their commitments.

Carlsberg Malaysia pledges to work towards ZERO carbon footprint, ZERO farming footprint, ZERO packaging waste, ZERO water waste, ZERO irresponsible drinking, and ZERO accidents culture. The event was launched by Stefano Clini, Managing Director of Carlsberg Malaysia, and Pearl Lai, the Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director, who is also a director of EUROCHAM Malaysia. Pearl heads EUROCHAM Malaysia’s Sustainability Sector Committee as well.

EUROCHAM Malaysia echoes the stance the EU has taken in terms of sustainability as it has been mainstreamed into EU policies and legislation, via the EU Sustainable Development Strategy, the EU 2020 Strategy, and the EU's Better Regulation Agenda. We believe that development must meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. A life of dignity for all within the planet's limits and reconciling economic efficiency, social inclusion, and environmental responsibility are at the essence of sustainable development.
