Sustainability has been one of the fundamental objectives of the European Union (EU) for nearly 20 years. It has been mainstreamed into EU policies and legislation and the EU’s 2030 Agenda has become the world’s blueprint for global sustainable development. The EU has a set vision for the sustainable development of Europe based on balanced economic growth and price stability, a highly competitive social market economy, aiming at full employment and social progress, and a high level of protection and improvement of the quality of the environment.

Malaysia has recently been focusing on sustainability and while maturing in its understanding of the matter, it’s still developing specific strategies and policies. Being in the enviable position of benefitting from others’ experience, and combined with strong guidance and support from the Malaysian Government, local businesses have been able to make great strides in sustainability within a short time frame.

With the elite trailblazers from both the EU and Malaysia being highlighted, we are pleased, and proud, that both the EU Ambassador, H.E. Maria Castillo Fernandez and KeTTHA Secretary General, YBhg. Dato Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini bin Ujang will participate in this event. Also in attendance will be EUMCCI Chairperson Tan Sri Dr. Rebecca Sta. Maria.

At this "In Conversation With" Sustainability Leaders event, we are featuring the past winners of Europa Awards for Sustainability 2017 together with sustainability experts to further discuss best practices in business sustainability. They will share how to avoid costly mistakes, what works, and what it takes to be a leader in the field of sustainability!

This event will take place together with the Soft Launch of Europa Awards for Sustainability 2018 edition.

	Moderator – Sunita Devi Sustainability Communication Consultant & Trainer, Devcom Trends Sunita has a passion in enhancing communication skills to acquire knowledge. Formerly with Citibank, she has also done work with a wide variety of corporations including the University of Phoenix (New Zealand), Smart Talk Alliance, the Philippines Consulate, Embassy of Kuwait, Korea, Indian High Commission, Outsourcing Magazine, HR Asia, and more. Most of her recent papers resolve around her double PhD research on Sustainable Best Practices and Information Security.
	Panelist – Raj Ridvan Singh Founder & CEO, SOLS 24/7 One of the most successful social entrepreneurs in Malaysia, Raj has more than 20 years in the social service sector. He started SOLS 24/7 Malaysia to blend the worlds of social service and entrepreneurship. 300,000+ individuals have benefited from SOLS 24/7’s programs and projects and it has grown into one of the leading and most innovative NGOs in Malaysia. In 2010, he set up SOLS Social Enterprises, and took it from start up to a multi million Ringgit organization within nine months.
	Panelist – Gregers Reimann Managing Director, IEN Consultants Gregers regularly contributes to green building articles and frequently guest lectures at universities internationally.  He specializes in building designs that have good daylight, are highly energy efficiency, and have excellent thermal and visual comfort.  Key project references during his 10 years of working in Asia include the Setia City Mall (Green certified mall), the ST Diamond Building (2012 ASEAN Energy Award winner), and the GEO Building designed to be a zero energy office building.  Gregers has also been a technical reviewer for the EU Energy – Efficiency Buildings project.
	Panelist – Brian Lariche Founder & Chief Community Strategist, Lariche Community Brian has vast experience in community development both in Malaysia and internationally.  He was Project Adviser for the UNDP in HIV, focusing on leadership and capacity identification and development in Malaysia and West Africa.  He is also a trainer facilitator for numerous local and international youth and community leadership engagement programs.  He has also run programs on CSR (including the issue of sustainability) at the Abu Dhabi Centre of Excellence for the Mumbai Chamber of Commerce, and several programs in other countries as well.
	Panelist – Matthias Gelber Founder & Chief Environmental Officer, NEWERA Energy Matthias Gelber is an avid environmentalist, green entrepreneur, professional green speaker, moderator, trainer, and judge for eco events. Dubbed the Green Man for his commitment to sustainable practices, Matthias aspires to be a model of green living for the sake of future generations. Founder of Eco Warriors Malaysia, he also serves as a board member of Solexel Malaysia and has played a key role in developing and delivering the 1st ADB Green Business Forum.
