Circular Economy Conference & Mission 2019

The linear model of economic development based on the limitless exploitation of virgin raw materials and energy has reached its physical limit and it is threatening the stability of economies and ultimately human survival.

In a Circular Economy (CE), the value of products, materials and resources are retained in the economy for as
long as possible, and waste generation is minimized. The move towards models of circular economy is becoming
a reality despite the many barriers currently present.

The CE trend is gradually but promisingly making its mark on a national scale in Malaysia, in line with the government’s
“Roadmap towards zero-single-use-plastics 2018 to 2030”.

The European Union Delegation to Malaysia, with the support of the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology,
Environment & Climate Change (MESTECC), and EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organising a CE
conference on 11th June 2019.

30 EU Circular Economy business leaders and contribute to share ideas and experiences to
promote CE business models in EU and Malaysia.

This event is by invitation only.
