Ministry of Health Malaysia has just released the latest changes for health screening, COVID-19 tests and quarantine procedures for citizens and non-citizens who have just arrived in Malaysia from abroad, effective 14 December 2020. Key updates as below:
- Shortened the mandatory quarantine period at designated quarantine stations from 14 days to 7 days for travellers showing RT-PCR Covid-19 test reports upon arrival; 10 days for those without the said report.
- Mandatory to undergo RT-PCR Covid-19 detection test 3 days before departure to Malaysia
- Mandatory to pay any charges imposed by government including COVID-19 test, quarantine and hospital admission charges, if applicable.
