ABOUT THIS COMMITTEE
Following a shift in the regulatory landscape around environmental, social, and governance (ESG), the Sustainability Committee aims to address the need for sustainable practices, where the scale, scope, and complexity of the economic and social transformation called for collaboration between stakeholders: the government, business leaders and institutional investors.
Malaysia echoes the vision of the European Union (EU), aiming to accomplish a net-zero carbon economy by 2050 through policy, expenditure, and tax. In accordance with the Twelfth Malaysia Plan, this Committee aims to bridge and foster a collaborative partnership between public and private stakeholders to facilitate and support members of EUROCHAM Malaysia in promoting and achieving their institutional ESG goals as well as understanding and shaping government policies affecting their business operations in Malaysia. This will also include collaborations with the EU Delegation in Malaysia and EU Commission in Brussels to understand and communicate the policy impact of the European Green Deal and related EU policies beyond EU borders.
