Budget 2027: Tax Breaks To Encourage Corporate Support For Food Bank Initiative, Says Armizan

11. October 2026
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Armizan Mohd Ali confirmed a special tax deduction for companies and strategic partners contributing food and equipment to the Ihsan Food Bank Initiative, running from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2030, one of 44 tax incentive measures in Budget 2027. This matters directly for corporate CSR and supply chain planning: the deduction is framed as incentive and recognition to widen strategic-partner participation, covering operational support as well as food and equipment donations, with the detailed claiming mechanism still being finalised with the Finance Ministry. Corporates, voluntary organisations and food and logistics businesses considering CSR contributions may be affected, with the first grants already distributed to a university student consumer group to set up on-campus food bank facilities.
