Malaysia’s Economy Remains Resilient, Supported by Manufacturing, Data Centres, Says S&P

Malaysia’s economic outlook remains resilient, supported by strong manufacturing activity, infrastructure investment and the expanding data centre sector, according to S&P Global Ratings. The technology and electronics manufacturing sector continues to support economic momentum, while investments in data centres and large-scale rail and transport infrastructure are also contributing to growth. S&P expects Malaysia’s 2026 growth to exceed its earlier 4.9 per cent projection, supported by stronger-than-expected performance in the first half of the year, while inflation is expected to remain stable.
