Budget 2027: RM8b For TVET, 30,000 New Job Opportunities Via BAKAT Madani

09. October 2026
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim allocated RM8 billion across ministries for TVET, alongside a target of 30,000 new jobs through BAKAT Madani, which already has six GLICs, Petronas and the wider GLC network committed to training and placing 25,000 youths, with tax deductions for private companies running BAKAT Madani programmes from June 2026 to December 2030. This matters for employers sourcing skilled talent: HRD Corp gets RM3 billion for three million training opportunities, CIDB will train 10,000 youths in robotics and digital technology specifically to cut dependence on foreign labour, and ADTEC JTM’s Advanced Automotive Technology programme opens a direct pipeline into automotive careers. Employers in construction, automotive, industrial automation and aviation maintenance, along with TVET and training institutions, may be affected, with MARA, MITRA and CIDB placements and training rolling out through 2027.
