Malaysia is strengthening regional cooperation with Indonesia and Thailand in renewable energy and connectivity under the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT), including through initiatives such as the ASEAN Power Grid. The cooperation also places greater emphasis on sustainability, the green economy, artificial intelligence and digital transformation as drivers of regional growth, while the ministers reaffirmed the IMT-GT Vision 2036. Malaysia is preparing the next IMT-GT Implementation Blueprint for 2027–2031 and is set to host the IMT-GT meeting in Langkawi in September 2027.
