Malaysia has moved foreign worker recruitment applications fully online through the Foreign Workers Centralised Management System (FWCMS), removing the need for employers to submit applications manually or make walk-in visits. The Human Resources Ministry said the digital process is intended to reduce waiting times, repeated visits and improve transparency, while existing eligibility requirements, laws and regulatory reviews remain in place. A phased quota allocation is also being implemented, including the 15,000-worker quota for the restaurant sector, with 5,000 applications involving 1,033 employers currently being processed.
