Budget 2027 Seen Offering More Incentives to SMEs

Malaysia’s SMEs are expected to receive further support under Budget 2027 amid rising costs, supply chain disruptions and geopolitical uncertainties, according to Affin Bank chief economist Alan Tan. SMEs with greater exposure to oil, freight and transport costs may be more affected by disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, although wider impacts could extend across the sector. Tan also advised SMEs to maintain sufficient working capital and cash reserves to manage operating expenses and potential delays in payments.
