The digital economy is on track to contribute 30% of Malaysia’s GDP by 2030, up from 25.5% in 2025, supported by initiatives including the National AI Action Plan 2026–2030 and Malaysia Digital 2030. Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said Budget 2027 will place greater emphasis on helping SMEs adopt AI by improving access, affordability and understanding of the technology. The government is also continuing efforts to support the broader digitalisation of SMEs and strengthen the country’s AI capabilities.
