Malaysian Government is considering an electric vehicle (EV) sales levy to establish a dedicated fund for expanding Malaysia’s public EV charging network. The proposal is being considered as charging infrastructure remains a key factor in supporting wider EV adoption, particularly as the number of EVs on Malaysian roads continues to grow. The initiative would provide a potential funding mechanism for increasing public charging facilities and supporting the development of the country’s EV ecosystem.
